What to Expect Tours of the site take approximately one hour. Tours are offered on the hour, with the first tour at 10:00 a.m. and the last at 3:00 p.m. On these tours, visitors take guided tours through the Bennehan House, the Holman House at Horton Grove, and the Great Barn. Plan to wear comfortable, sturdy shoes and to dress for the weather. There is no food or drink available at the site, but please feel free to bring a picnic lunch! The visitor center has bottled water for sale and restroom facilities. Some of Stagville's historic buildings are not yet handicapped accessible. We will be more than happy to accommodate visitors with special needs. The visitor center also houses the site's orientation program and the site gift shop. Proceeds from gift shop sales, along with membership payments and donations go directly to support Historic Stagville. |
